LEADERSHIP VISION

President & Leadership Message

Guiding philosophies and visionary commitments from the leadership of The Calcutta Heart Clinic & Hospital Society.

Hospital Pavilion
“

The Calcutta Heart Clinic and Hospital was founded by legendary doctor and freedom fighter Dr. Nani Guha to alleviate the suffering of the underprivileged. In 1995, illustrious scientist Professor Sushil Kumar Mukherjee took up the reins, revitalizing the hospital through democratic values and selfless teamwork. When COVID-19 struck, our entire contingent of doctors, nurses, and staff rose courageously to treat patients with exceptional clinical outcomes.

GOVERNANCE DIRECTIVES

Executive Directives on Patient Care

Mandatory standards instituted by the President and Governing Body across all clinical and administrative divisions.

Patients receiving subsidized or free charity care in our general wards receive identical clinical treatment, high-grade medication, and specialist oversight as private patients without discrimination.

Continuous Nursing & Clinical Audit

INSTITUTIONAL DIALOGUE

In Conversation With Our Leadership

Direct insights into how we maintain clinical excellence while preserving our non-profit commitment.

How does the Society sustain advanced medical technology at subsidized costs?

"As a 100% non-profit society registered under the WB Act 1961, we have no corporate shareholders or profit dividends. All financial surpluses from hospital operations and donations are directly reinvested into cutting-edge medical equipment, subsidizing bed charges, and providing free insulin to children." — Dr. Kisan Pradhan, Hony. Secretary

What safeguards ensure our clinical quality matches premier national hospitals?

"We adhere to rigorous NABH quality indicators, monthly mortality audits, and participate in external quality assessment programs (EQAS) supervised by AIIMS New Delhi and CMC Vellore. Our senior interventionists operate 24x7 with stringent infection control protocols." — Dr. Asok Kumar Samanta, Medical Director

What is the hospital's roadmap for 2026 and beyond?

"We are commissioning three new Modular Operation Theatres with HEPA laminar airflow, expanding our specialized Home Care service for elderly cardiac patients, and setting up an advanced 3D Echocardiography lab. Our focus remains combining state-of-the-art care with human warmth." — Dr. Dhrubajyoti Mukhopadhyay, President
